Born and raised in South Africa, André was known from an early age for his inquisitive nature and tendency to challenge conventional thinking. At 17, a chance encounter with a prophetess would plant a seed that would later bloom into his life’s mission. She told him he would one day become “a businessman for God” – words that seemed unlikely at the time but would prove remarkably prescient.

After a transformative personal awakening in his early twenties, André found himself drawn to the wellness industry. He began selling hydrotherapy products door-to-door and at retirement communities, where he witnessed firsthand the profound impact that wellness technologies could have on people’s lives.
In 2000, at age 26, André discovered what would become his life’s work: the science of controlled oxidative stress and its potential to enhance human wellness. When traditional medical professionals refused to share their knowledge with someone outside their field, André didn’t give up. Instead, their rejection fueled his belief that wellness solutions shouldn’t be reserved only for those with medical degrees.

André worked tirelessly to create a non-invasive way to harness the benefits of ozone and controlled oxidative stress through a revolutionary sauna experience. There were moments of doubt, exhaustion, and near defeat. But a vivid dream – in which he saw himself helping people around the world – kept him going through the darkest hours.
In 2004, at age 30, André’s persistence paid off with the creation of the first working prototype, originally called the “Smith Chamber.”

A Personal Mission
In 2012, André faced one of his greatest challenges when his father was diagnosed with a terminal illness. Despite André’s hopes, his father wasn’t interested in trying the HOCATT and ultimately lost his battle with the illness. While respecting his father’s decision, this experience strengthened André’s resolve to make HOCATT more accessible and understandable to people everywhere.
The HOCATT Today
Today, HOCATT stands as the culmination of André’s vision: a device that combines 10 powerful wellness technologies into a single, comfortable, spa-like experience.
